A hometown celebration
I'm a little behind from being gone the past three weekends. (Too many things to post, too little time.) Here's a peek at a small-town festival weekend. (I was home for Herrinfesta Italiana, my hometown's annual Italian festival.) For me, the weekend centered around the bocce courts (where I was helping). But I managed to get a few other pictures, too.
The parade included the most firetrucks in a row I had ever seen.
My high school band. I used to be one of those poor kids!
You can't have a parade without the Shriners motor patrol.
At the bocce courts, he's in charge of the mic.
The plaque of past winners reflects an American flag flying from the pavilion.
The bocce courts are topped with brick dust.
Steve Hampton grooms some courts for another round of games.
The beer flows freely.
The fair.
My brother's bocce team (surprisingly) won the Championship Bocce Tournament.
