Griffin came home Monday night. (Hey, now I could blog in the name of my pet just to get on Andrew's nerves.) He's about 10 weeks old (exact age unknown). After some careful consideration, I decided to stick with Griffin for his name.
He goes through very active periods followed by long naps. He will zip around the floor and then all of a sudden crash, flopping down and falling asleep. His favorite toy starting out was a plastic donut-shaped toy with a plastic ball stuck inside that he bats around. He still loves it, but is also quite fond of a feathery wand attached to a ball and a spring with a bell attached. Anything that will "play with him" or move on its own is his favorite. When he really gets into playing, he has a tendency to do somersaults. He also has a fascination with running between the shower liner and outside curtain (along the edge of the tub). He falls into or out of the tub in the process but appears to be unscatched by the tumbles.
He has been perfect in his litterbox use and eating and drinking well. Everytime he drinks out of his bowl, he sticks his neck all the way over so that the tag on his collar is sure to dip into the water.
When he's not playing, Griffin is very cuddly. In fact, even when he is playing, he likes people to be a part of it. He likes to jump up on my lap and roll around or curl up next to me and sleep.
At night, however, I'm still determining the best place for him. The first night, he woke me up every few hours. After the first awakening last night, I kicked him out of my room and shut the door. He appears to have done fine on his own, so that might be the best action while he's little and intent on playing (with anyone he can find, awake or asleep), every 2-3 hours.
Instead of re-posting all his current pictures, you can view them here.
