I got a BlackBerry today (same number as old phone for those who might call). I had been in the market for a new (better) phone anyway, so needing one for work and having the option to carry around one phone instead of a separate BlackBerry for work sealed the deal. I'm sure I will soon be addicted to it.
Everything's nicer with an accent
I attended my first company-wide meeting this week. Apparently, they only occur a few times a year, but this one happened to fall in my second week on the job. It was refreshing. No bad news, no layoffs, no fears. Instead, someone from our London (parent company) office said we are doing well financially. How nice! And, of course, he did it all in British-speak.
Crazy cats
Of course, a cats update. Griffin ran out the door as I got home last night and discovered -- the hallway! I chased him down and returned him to the apartment, but he has now decided the hallway MUST be part of his living space. He constantly goes to the door and meows and meows. I hope to break him of this habit VERY soon.
A new lease on life
Breaks? What are those? Well, in the lovely world of Congress, they do exist (unlike the world of daily, mainstream newspapers), and the next recess will occur in the near future, as Congress breaks for spring/Easter. I DO still have to work, but we won't publish papers many days or be overly busy (unless big news breaks) so we're on "non-production" schedules, which means fewer hours at work and days that end at 5 p.m.
