I live near a fire station and in the city, so the sound of sirens doesn't faze me. I heard some last night but thought nothing of it. ... Until they continued. Finally I looked outside and saw a number of fire trucks on my street, as well as smoke. A building about a block away was on fire. By the time it was all over, about 10 firetrucks were in the area. I've never been that close to a building fire, and it reminded me I was lucky that wasn't my apartment.
