Start your Google Reader now!

I'm late to this party, and I don't want you to miss out on it. Have you heard of RSS feeds? Have you heard of Google Reader? It doesn't matter whether you're young or old, whether you use the Internet a little or a lot. You can benefit from this.

1) If you aren't familiar with RSS feeds or Google Reader, check out this video from The Common Craft Show. (I recommend this series if you want to know more about other types of new technology, too. They have videos on many topics, including Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc. Lee and Sachi LeFever do a great job of making informative videos that are fun to watch.)

2) Go to Google Reader. (Other sites that have similar capabilities are www.bloglines.com, www.newsgator.com and My Yahoo!)

3) Subscribe to your favorite news sites, blogs, etc. For more ideas on organizing your subscriptions, check out my friend Andrew's recent post on RSS feeds.

Now, instead of checking for updates on multiple blogs and news sites each day, you go to one page and can see news headlines and new posts from each site you choose.

You'll wonder how you survived so long without this!
