I suppose I have perfectionist tendencies ...

I had to laugh at myself last week when I ran across to reminders of my perfectionist tendencies in a matter of minutes.

First, I found this shoelace-tying video on Lifehacker. It explains that tying shoes with something called a reef knot instead of a granny knot is more efficient (and neater-looking). I was intrigued, so I watched the video. As I was watching, I considered how I have been tying my shoes. Of course! I've been using the reef knot for as long as I can remember (and then making sure the loops and strands are even on both sides of the shoe, too).

Minutes later, I ran across this Lifehacker post. One of the tips is to put groceries on the check-out conveyor belt in categories to make putting them away at home easier. (So they'll end up being bagged by categories.) To me, this is second nature. Why would someone need to hear this; wouldn't they already be doing it? Even if I'm bagging groceries myself, I put them through the check-out in categories. Frozen foods, then refrigerated, then pantry (or sometimes pantry, refrigerated, frozen). And if I have three frozen pizzas, you can bet they'll show up together before the three bags of frozen vegetables, etc. And, yes, I bag them that way as well.
