Two weekends in one

I never updated my blog about last weekend's happenings, so here goes.

Eastern Market, basketball and National Archives
I met a couple friends at Eastern Market to have breakfast at a very popular place there called Market Lunch. I hadn't heard much about it, but it's obviously well-known as the line went down the hall and we waited more than half an hour to order and sit at the small string of stools. My crab cakes benedict, however, were delicious.

Next, we joined a Mizzou watch party at a bar in the Penn Quarter (and watched Mizzou lose).

In an attempt to cheer myself up after that (and because I had time remaining on my parking meter), I made a quick trip to the National Archives. Unfortunately, there was a line, so by the time I got in, I went straight to the rotunda to see the main documents (Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights) and then had to return to my car before I got a ticket.

Ceviche and Champagne
This weekend, I had a drink Friday night at a Silver Spring bar/restaurant called Ceviche — and I actually tried some ceviche while I was there. (From the descriptions I've read, it's basically raw fish marinated in lime juice and other seasonings.) The ceviche was good, but nothing I'm overly crazy about.

On Saturday, the wine club I'm in celebrated Champagne and sparkling wine month (though we didn't have any real French Champagne). We had quite a few bottles for our wine club brunch, and I ended up staying to hang out with some friends there until the evening. (And then got a ride home.)

I've also been watching a good amount of football the last few weekends.
