I went to my first Renaissance Festival over the weekend. Maryland has one near Annapolis for about two months every fall. It was a great time! We spent the whole day there with lots of eating and watching shows and seeing the sights.
I had the obligatory turkey leg, as well as some mead. I also ate an amazing apple dumpling with ice cream. (These pretzel guys walking around with them hanging off sticks cracked me up.)
We watched a "Romeo & Juliet" kids show, a comedy show and a skit on King Henry VIII's wives. We also saw an archery demonstration and a joust complete with royalty, plus various other performers throughout the festival.
We played some games, and we looked in lots of shops with wonderful handmade items.
