I'm way behind on posts. I still have multiple ones to write from my September trip, and I now I have more to add from my trip through the Northeast. But here's a quick recipe for a simple and fresh pasta dish.
I got this off the blog of Michael Ruhlman (the guy who wrote "Ratio"). The recipe is for tomato basil pasta. It's a very simple recipe with a very light sauce and fresh tomato and basil, and it turned out well.
Apparently, Griffin likes it, too. After I was done cooking and still had the ingredients on the counter, he wouldn't leave the kitchen. And he even pulled down the towel to roll on it. I tried giving him a leaf of basil, thinking maybe it reminded him of catnip. But he didn't seem interested. My only other guess is that he likes garlic, but I was afraid the potency might be bad for him so I didn't give him a clove to test the theory. Weird cat.

Bearcat always tries to get into garlicky things too. Which I'm pretty sure is a cat no-no. And very weird since she's at least part vampire ...
