Last night was amazing. I went to the Big Hunt — and had Schlafly Kolsch on tap! AND watched the Cardinals beat the Mariners while I was there. Plus, I met someone from St. Louis who has relatives in Southern Illinois.
But back to the important part: the Kolsch. This is the bar that had a Schlafly event last week, yet somehow it hadn't occurred to me that they might still have Schlafly. When I did discover it over the weekend, I planned to go Sunday (already had Saturday night plans), but I was too lazy to trek over on Sunday. But I did call to verify they still had the beer, and I went after work last night.
I braved a torrential downpour from the Metro to the bar (a block or two, which resulted in me being soaked despite my umbrella). The Cardinals were on TV, so I drank my Kolsch and watched the Cardinals play in St. Louis. That's also when I learned about the apparent decision of Texas, etc., to remain in the Big 12.
A very eventful night.
